503 Error - No longer able to send email

Problem
Sending email through Microsoft Outlookreturns a bounce message containing the following reason:
503 valid RCPT command must precede DATA
Answer
When sending mail through our servers, you must have authentication enabled. This is a security measure to reduce spam.
